Klimt Tapestry Adele Bloch-Bauer

This very important and famous portrait of Adele Bloch-Bauer I by Gustav Klimt took three years to paint and was finished in 1907. In 2006 Lauder purchased this work of art for $135 million for his Neue Galerie - New York City and at the time, it was the most expensive purchase ever made for a painting.

Adele Bloch-Bauer is painted with oil and gold on canvas. The ornamentation is in classic style for Gustav Klimt (1862 - 1918), who excelled in his passion for Impressionism, Symbolism, and Art Nouveau.
