Portiere Lion Tapestry

The lion is a symbol of bravery, strength, royalty and power. The very finest tapestries woven during the Medieval ages were of the lion, the unicorn and the fair maiden.

Six tapestries make up the The Lady and the Unicorn series, depicting the five senses, and the sixth sense (desire). The Portiere Lion tapestry wall hanging comes from the sense of Taste.

This reproduction is taken from the original circa 1490 hanging in the Cluny Museum in Paris, (Musée National du Moyen-Âge) This is one of many beautiful wall tapestries to enhance your home decor.
