The unicorn is a symbol of purity and love and only the finest tapestries were woven with the fair maiden and the unicorn during the Medieval times.

The Lady and the Unicorn series of six tapestries depicts the five senses, plus the sixth sense, being love or desire. From the sense of Taste comes the fine woven goods, Portiere Unicorn tapestry .

This is a reproduction of the original Portiere Unicorn tapestry wall hanging which is housed in Musée National du Moyen-Âge (Cluny) in Paris. It truly is a brilliant work of art from circa 1490.

Size: 28w x 75h, woven in France, 80% cotton, fully lined with sleeve for rod, dry clean.
