William Morris Angels Tapestry

Tapestry Angels, by William Morris Angeli Laudantes and Ministrantes are originally designed by Burne-Jones in 1878 for a Morris & Co. window in the Salisbury Cathedral. The original tapestries were woven at the Merton Abbey Works of Morris & Company in 1894, now housed in the Victoria and Albert Museum.

William Morris is well known as a designer, craftsman, writer and socialist, born March 24, 1834 at Elm House, Walthamstow.

This jacquard woven work-of-art is a beautiful representation of this historic time in history and celebration of the Angel of the Annunciation.
