What happens when you leave the rug out in the rain..? To my surprise, not much.
I had an Oriental rug hanging outside so I could gently bounce my broom on it to pop off any dust or dirt particles. I realize this must be done very gingerly and gently as to not break or hurt any of the wool fibers. All was well, so I left it hanging outside to air.
I forgot about the rug and went to a birthday party that evening… it rained and the winds blew. When I returned home I went to bed. This morning I woke and was amazed to see my rug still hanging outside.
The rain had “washed it” and the winds had dried it. It’s all wool and if you did not know better, wool is maybe one of the most amazing materials on earth. It’s quite remarkable as the rug was better than ever. Who knew?
