Salisbury Cathedral was the original home to the Angeli Laudantes & Ministrantes that were designed in 1878 by Burne-Jones for a Morris & Company window. In 1894 the fine woven goods home is now in the Victoria & Albert Hall Museum. The tapestries were woven at Merton Abbey Works…. a Morris & Company.
William Morris was born in 1834, and is known for his tapestry weavings… the Angels are a beautiful jacquard woven reproduction of his fine work of art. A celebration of the Angel of the Annunciation, is how it originally took shape.
Angels Tapestry by William Morris is a beautiful work of art and excellent design.
